The Problem with Kings: Prologue

Good people want to be led and power-seeking people want to lead. Not always, but that is a general rule throughout all of time. People who are good at being led and conforming to social pressures do well in school, college, and society. People who are good at being led are good at going to church. People who are good at being led are good at falling for hype in one way or another. People who are good at being led are good at being oppressed, even if they do not see it clearly. The answer to oppression? Is it rebellion? Yes…and no.

Being rebellious all together can be very unwise. Mankind needs to be led or chaos ensues.

However, within the heart of individuals, we need to follow only one. There is only one leader that has our true best interest in mind, who does not hide behind falseness to perpetuate agendas of control for selfish gain or man-made utopia that will inevitably fail. That One is Jesus the Christ.

As long as governments do not require us to deny the faith, we should do as they say. Pay taxes (give to Caesar that which is Caesars) and so on. What we need is a silent rebellion of love, unity, and worship of Jesus alone. This is the only way to be free of oppression.

Get out of the world of corrupt politics and seek the Kingdom of Heaven. Get out of the world of religious corruption that fights over matters of non-importance and learn to follow the Holy Spirit of Truth. Allow the wicked to consume each other with their hate, but do not hate them. Preach the gospel – in TRUTH. Allow your money-grubbing and power hungry preachers to go bankrupt and get back to house churches, loving all and giving to all as they have need – not giving all to one man who exalts himself too highly and teaches traditions of men that lead you to the gates of Hell. Sincere, Jesus loving preachers can do just fine within the walls of their own home.

From Saul to our preachers and religious leaders today, God’s people has always wanted kings, and this does not go well for us. Kings cause division, corruption, and lead to destruction. There is only one King we are to follow with our whole hearts, minds, and souls: Jesus Christ.

NOTE 10/4/19: This series took an unexpected turn. These ideas are covered in the series: We Are the Four Horsemen.

These are the things that ye shall do: Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates: And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things I hate, saith the Lord.  — Zechariah 8:16-17
