Loving the Lord is Strengthening

I’m often astounded at how easily I become overwhelmed with things. Even little things. I tend to over-think and sometimes I create problems in my own mind that aren’t even there! I was just sitting and thinking about this, and a neat thought came to mind. We know that Jesus is the answer, and one of the great commandments is to love the Lord with all our might.

I know I love the Lord, Jesus. Yet, today I became aware of the scary reality that I do not love him with my all. When we give the Lord our all, we have the answers to all things that trouble us.

When we are battling a tough sin, love Jesus more and he will help us overcome the sin.

When we are afraid, love Jesus more than ourselves and he will keep us.

When we are dealing with difficult people, love Jesus enough to love them back.

It’s so simple, yet so important. It’s like what Jesus taught about serving God and Mammon (riches, iniquity), you cannot do both at the same time.

If we love Jesus, if we really love him with all our being, then we will grow in faith as the love the the Lord grows in us.

This world gets me down, but mostly I get tired of my own self. Yet, I know without Jesus, I’d be curled up in the bed unable to do much of anything because my own strength is next to nothing. I’ve been there, and I know what Jesus can do. I also know there is much room to grow, and when we grow in our love for the Lord, He gives us all the endurance we need.

I want to know what it is like to love the Lord Jesus with my whole might and have my weakness covered by His might in return.

  1. Amen 😇. Our sufficiency comes from the all sufficient God.

These are the things that ye shall do: Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates: And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things I hate, saith the Lord.  — Zechariah 8:16-17
