Some of you might have heard about this “wonder in the heavens” that is supposed to be seen on September 23, 2017. Is this something we should take seriously? I don’t think so.
Do we worship the creation or the creator? Which should we look to?
It seems to me that when we try to decipher signs in the earth or skies that is very similar to what paeans did. After all, aren’t these “signs,” like Virgo, for instance, named after Greek mythology? The very basis by which people are judging this so-called sign is rooted in idolatry. Why are so many taking this seriously?
It can be easy to be fooled by people who have a lot charisma and passion about what they are saying. Add some fancy visual aids and then you really get people going. If we see the illusions for what they are, we see vanity and deceit. It’s sorcery. it’s idolatry. It’s Satanic. We don’t need a lot of props and fancy words to preach the gospel. We don’t need long beards and robes either.
I don’t claim to know what the Revelation 12 sign means. In-fact, it is very puzzling to me in a lot of ways. But, I do know it is not this. We don’t have to be full of knowledge to perceive when the Spirit is against something. It just does not feel right, and some of the things these so-called prophets are saying about this “wonder in the heavens” especially does not feel right.
If this is to be a kind of “birthing” then those who are being born will be killed because this idol is a whore. That I know. Hopefully nothing will come of it at all, but I will say that if you reading this are on the fence about it or have taken this sign for fact, please prayerfully reconsider. Just because someone comes preaching Jesus does not mean they are on His side. There are many who come in the name of Jesus who are sent to deceive, divide, and destroy – and many take advantage of the already corrupt and weakened state of the church.
If you feel that something is off with mainstream Christianity and are looking for the truth, this is not the way to go. These people and so many like them are often worse than the traditions. I’d rather fellowship with a traditional Christian than one of these any day. Please do not fall for these kinds of tricks, but instead have faith that Jesus alone is all you need. You don’t need me or anyone else. Even those who say, “don’t look to me, look to Jesus.” They will say anything to appear humble, wise, and sent from the Lord when they are not.
Seek the Holy Spirit with all your heart. He will help keep you from these things. Being born of the Spirit is the only “rebirth” we should be concerned about.
Geez, they even use the Holy Spirit to fuel this “re-birthing” idea. As I type I realize that I need to make another point. Stop looking for a pouring out of the “spirit of Elijah.” I don’t have all the understanding on this, but I’m sure the Lord will help me with this so I expect another post is to come soon.
